Hello,
We are Samantha and Wilson and we appreciate you taking the time to get to know us. We both grew up in Madison, WI and met during our sophomore year of high school at Madison Memorial. Today, we live on the city’s near east side in the historic Atwood neighborhood, where we are close to Lake Monona, parks, restaurants, and the schools that we teach at. We have a four year old hound mix named Billy who we rescued from the Dane County Humane Society during the pandemic and he is a very chill dog who has met many infants and young children at events with family and friends. We are very fortunate to have both of our families living here in Madison as well and you will learn more about them within our profile.
You will also get a chance to learn about our heritage, get a glimpse into our love for travel and adventure, and learn more about our experiences as teachers. Samantha is a registered member of the Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and her culture and traditions are central to both her and her family. Wilson was adopted from South Korea when he was three months old and in 2019 he reconnected with his birth mom and ventured back to Korea with Samantha to meet her. Both of us work as teachers in Madison. Samantha works at preschool in our neighborhood and we would be able to have our child attend there from infancy through 4K. We believe strongly in the importance of early childhood education, and in her twelve years of teaching Samantha has spent most of that time working with infants. Wilson currently works as a Special Education teacher and football coach at one of the city’s public high schools. He has been teaching for fifteen years and previously taught various subjects and grade levels at the middle school level for his first twelve years in the Madison Metropolitan School District.
Our teaching philosophy is centered around treating our students and their families as our own. We have been blessed to have a continually expanding family over the years, but there has continued to be a missing piece. Throughout our journey to have a child we have faced fertility issues and many pregnancies did not “stick”. This journey has made us stronger as a couple and deepened our love for each other and our desire to raise a child. We cannot imagine how difficult this decision is for you and our primary focus throughout this process will be to support you as the birth mother and honor your decisions. We are excited to welcome you and your child into our family and hope you take time to view our profile and consider us as adoptive parents. Please feel free to reach out to our agency with any questions you may have. We strongly believe in open communication and transparency.
Thank you again for being you, and know that we are thinking of you,
Samantha and Wilson
