Hello! We are Megan and Frances. Thank you for taking time to get to know us through our profile, we hope you can get a glimpse of who we are as individuals and a family. We are excited to continue to grow our family through adoption; we adopted our daughter Edee as a newborn just over 4 years ago!

We met 13 years ago at a summer chemistry research internship in Illinois and quickly bonded over cooking, kayaking and science. We just celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary! We enjoy coffee dates, hiking, kayaking, comedy movies, concerts and house projects together- Megan finds the project and Frances makes it happen.

Our lives got better when Edee joined 4 years ago. As a family we enjoy evening walks and bike rides around our neighborhood or trips to the nearby park (just 2 blocks away). We really love our neighborhood- it's very friendly and welcoming. Edee's best friend lives just down the street and we frequently are at each other's homes for impromptu playdates or join together on walks or bike rides. Edee also loves to go pet our next door neighbors cats or ask her what she is up to in her yard. We regularly have movie nights, love to visit the downtown farmer's market and local library, and frequent Home Depot's monthly kid workshops.

Frances is a chemistry teacher at a local high school here in Madison. She loves playing sports, cheering on her hometown (Kansas City) teams, running and woodworking.

Megan is a family medicine doctor with a special interest in LGBTQ+ care- she loves getting to support patients in living healthy authentic lives. She enjoys baking focaccia, vegetarian/vegan cooking, figuring out if she has a green thumb and finding house projects.

Edee is our silly, loving, imaginative 4-year-old daughter who is always eagar to be involved and helpful. She loves to help Frances make shakes most mornings for breakfast and is ready to help with any house or outdoor project. She loves to help Megan stretch and fold dough when making bread and watering flowers. Edee joined our family as a newborn through adoption. Her birth parent lives in another state and we have been fortunate to plan yearly trips to spend time together.

Kayda is our loyal, spunky 13-year-old Husky. She loves to talk and make her needs known. She is always ready for treats, a walk or chasing away the bunnies and squirrels in our backyard. We also recently had to say goodbye unexpectedly to our other dog, Bilbo who shared 10 years with us and was Kayda and Edee's BFF.

Family and community are really important to us. Edee loves having a big family and is always excited to tell you that she has 4 grandmas and A LOT of cousins. Frances comes from a very big family with 5 siblings, her mom (Jammaw), dad and step-mom and grandma (Nonnie). We have 10 nieces and nephews, and a great nephew, on Frances’ side of the family. Megan has a smaller family with her mom and dad (Grandma and Grandpa), her sister and one niece. Megan's family lives in Wisconsin- we see her family frequently (they live about 2 hours away)- about monthly or more. Frances' family all live in Kansas City and we make at least 2 extended trips a year to see them, and they visit us as well.
