Hello,

Thank you so much for taking the time to learn about us. We know this is a very personal journey, and we hold a great deal of respect for you as you decide what is best for you and your child.

We’re Kurt and Mackenzie. We live in a small Wisconsin town. We’ve been together for over ten years, and during that time we’ve built a life rooted in love, laughter, and close family ties. Mackenzie works in special education, and Kurt is a maintenance technician. Our home is shared with our two sweet dogs, Basel and Finnegan, who keep things lively and always make us smile.

Kurt is a warm, easygoing person with a gentle sense of humor that often shows up at just the right moment. He has a calm, steady way about him that makes people feel comfortable and cared for, and he is known for his patience and his ability to truly listen, making others feel heard. He enjoys the simple, meaningful things in life—playing co-ed softball, tinkering with projects, spending time on computers, and sharing games and laughter with family. At his core, Kurt is steady, caring, and deeply devoted to the people he loves.

Mackenzie is a loving and devoted person, with a steady, dependable way of showing up for the people and things she cares about. She has a big heart and a quiet passion that shines through in the way she loves her family, friends, and the animals she adores—especially dogs and sheep. She finds joy in caring for and creating things, like crafting something by hand or tending to her garden full of vegetables and flowers. Mackenzie also loves making memories while visiting family out west, playing games together, and taking road trips. She brings warmth, thoughtfulness, and a deep sense of love into everything she does.

Family is at the center of our lives. We come from large, caring, and supportive families who are excited to welcome a child with open arms and surround them with love and encouragement. We value kindness, patience, creativity, and making everyday moments meaningful—whether that’s through hobbies like gardening and crafting,  spending time outdoors, hands-on activities, exploring new places, cooking together, or visiting with loved ones.

Our greatest hope is to provide a home that feels safe, gentle, and full of love—a place where a child feels secure, supported, and free to grow at their own pace. We would be honored to walk alongside a child as they grow, always making sure we are honoring their story and surrounding them with unconditional love.

Thank you again for allowing us to share a bit about ourselves. We are truly grateful for your time and consideration.

With warm gratitude,
Kurt & Mackenzie

Mackenzie & Kurt

Our favorite holiday tradition—an annual photo with the boys in front of the tree, involving strategic treat hiding, a lot of “sit… please sit… good sit!”, and just enough patience to capture the perfect yearly chaos.

The day we said “I do”—and officially became a team, ready for whatever life brings, one shared laugh at a time.

Badger gear on, good vibes up—ready to cheer on Wisconsin and enjoy every minute of it!

An anniversary cruise and maximum silliness achieved—just two people fully committed to the funny faces and not taking themselves too seriously

We tried a hawk walk for the first time and flew two falcons through the woods—equal parts awe and mild disbelief as they landed on our arms and ate right out of our hands. We were just casually hanging out with birds of prey like it was just another perfectly normal afternoon.

Giants Causeway in Ireland: We came, we saw, we carefully balanced on ancient rocks like it was totally normal vacation behavior.

A fun-filled night out with Kurt’s family at a casino night charity event—plenty of laughs, a little friendly competition, and all for a wonderful cause

Family trip bonus: Churchill Downs, the iconic home of the Kentucky Derby—plenty of history, a little chaos, and a lively crew of nieces and nephews keeping us on our toes more than the horses ever could.

Visiting family back west is always a lively time filled with games, laughter, and plenty of food—just the right mix of chaos and comfort.

Family gatherings are one of our favorite traditions—full of laughter, good food, and always someone nearby to talk with, joke with, or simply enjoy being together.
