Hi! We are Shane and Jenell. Thank you for taking the time to consider us as adoptive parents. Our hope is that after reading a little bit about us, you can see how much love we have for each other and also how much love we will have for your baby. We don’t know what has led you to consider this difficult decision of adoption. However, we want you to know we are so grateful that your sacrifice may be giving us an opportunity to grow our family. We look forward to getting to know you and building a potential connection.

We met 15 years ago while working together at a restaurant. We quickly became friends and began dating a few years later. We got engaged in 2020, and married in 2021. We knew early on in our relationship that we wanted to be parents. After years of failed fertility treatments, we pursued adoption and in 2024, we adopted our daughter, Abigale. Going through the adoption process has taught us profound lessons about love, resilience, and the true meaning of family.

Shane works as a project manager renovating houses into upscale rentals. Jenell is a clinical psychologist working for the state. Shane works for his brother-in-law and Jenell’s job provides the flexibility that they are able to spend a lot of time focused on their family.

We live on Lake Wisconsin. Our community is small but connected. You can usually find us boating, hosting family BBQs, or on local hiking trails. We live about 30 minutes away from a lot of our immediate and extended family members. We see our family on a weekly basis. We enjoy attending our niece and nephews sporting events and our family helps us take care of Abigale when we’re at work.

We have a 6-year-old Bernedoodle named Bernie. He’s the best dog. He loves being outside and we often see him knocking on the door of our elderly neighbor to get treats. She affectionally calls him her granddog. He has quickly become Abigale’s best friend.

Abigale is such a happy and active little girl! We love watching her learn and grow! We have her involved in swim lessons and she recently started gymnastics. We know she would be the best big sister.

We enjoy Wisconsin sports. We attend a lot of Badger, Brewers and Packer games. We also enjoy traveling. Our anniversary tradition is to explore a new Wisconsin lake every year and we also have family across the United States that we try to visit often.
