Hello from Jamie and James!
We are very excited to grow our family through adoption. We can only imagine the challenges that lay before you, but we are so grateful that you are taking the time to consider us.
We met online while playing video games in 2001, before things like internet dating was really a thing. We found out we lived fairly close to each other and started dating shortly after. We were married at the church Jamie grew up attending in 2009 surrounded by our family and friends. Shortly afterwards, James joined the Navy, and we moved across the country. Oftentimes, James would have to be gone for months at a time on deployments and it really made us value the time we had together. After 8 years, while we had many positive experiences during James’ time in the Navy, we decided it was time to return to WI to be with our family. We moved back to WI in 2020 and are so glad to be surrounded by our loved ones.
Jamie moved a lot as a small child, but mostly grew up in southeastern WI. She has an older sister and a younger brother. Jamie’s parents and siblings all live in WI. Jamie is the Director of Applications at her work. She makes custom web software for various clients. While it can sound quite technical, she really enjoys improving people’s lives through technology and getting to learn about all kinds of different work people do, from agriculture to health care. She loves spending time with family. Her hobbies are playing video games, reading, and watching TV and anime, pretty much anything with a good story. She enjoys learning about new cultures and languages.
When James was a young child, he lived on a farm in western WI and then moved to a small city nearby. He has an older sister and three older brothers, one of whom was adopted, and James has only recently been able to reconnect with. After leaving the Navy, he went back to school to be a Surgical Technologist. He graduated in May 2023 and has been working in the field since. It is a challenging job, but he finds it rewarding. Family is very important to James, and he stays connected with them as much as possible. Most of his family lives in WI, but one of his brothers currently lives overseas. He loves video games, especially retro ones, and sports. He’s an avid Packer fan.
Our home is in a quiet neighborhood in Madison, WI. We enjoy going for walks through the multiple parks in our neighborhood. We’re close to libraries, schools, and stores. We have a small garden in which we grow fruits and vegetables. We have three cats: Doraemon, Yuki, and Apollo. We both love animals.
Our hope for this child is to provide them with a loving and accepting home. We are excited to see them grow and discover who they are. We want them to be able to find their passions and live a life that they find rewarding. We are excited to grow our family through adoption in whichever form it may take, whether open, semi-open, or closed. Thank you for taking the time to get to know us.
