Greetings from Charisse and Trent!  

We are so excited to share a little about ourselves and how we cannot wait to welcome your child into our home! We want you to know how deeply committed we are to providing a loving, stable, and joyful home for your baby. We promise to support their dreams and values and cherish every moment together as a family.  

We met Online 7 years ago and had an amazing first date full of great conversation and realization that we had a lot of shared values - including the goal of growing a family. We connect through our love of the outdoors and camping, sense of adventure, and the love of creating something out of nothing. We cherish all the time we can spend with our families, both biological and chosen.  After 3 years of dating, we got engaged and were married the following year in 2022. You can find us most weekends either at a cookout with friends, tackling a home project or finding a new trail to adventure with our pup, Obi-Wan, a 35-pound fluff ball of joy and energy. He is a very friendly dog who enjoys spending time with us outside on hikes and camping trips. He loves kids - his favorite part of the day are the trips across the street to the playground to say hi to all the kids he watches from the window. His kisses are contagious and he loves everyone he meets.

Charisse is a pediatric occupational therapist at the local Children’s Hospital in Madison and works with children who are preemies up through age 18. This means that she gets to play all day while teaching children new skills and adapting games, schoolwork, and everyday tasks to fit their specific abilities. While she sees kids at their most challenging times, she is an integral part of getting them back to participating in their lives. Trent is a Master Electrician, but he gets the most joy from helping other people by applying his knowledge and skills. He patiently answers a wide variety of questions and tries to empower friends and family to accomplish their goals while teaching the skills they need. He has a passion for renewable energy and saving the environment for future generations, so he has put his skills to work at a solar installation company.

We live in a safe, vibrant community that is full of families of all ages – including many families with younger children. McFarland, Wisconsin is a small community with many parks (including the large one across the street from our house), local restaurants, a fabulous family friendly library, and a lake within walking distance from our home. Because we are so close to Madison, we can enjoy both the small-town feel, as well as have fast access to all the diverse cultural opportunities of a college town. Our home is a warm and welcoming place, filled with laughter and kindness.

Being parents to us means nurturing a child and providing a safe and comfortable home and so much more. We will adapt our lives around our child and provide the love and support they need to grow into a strong, independent, and fun adult. Trent is excited to share his empathy for all humans, self-reliance, and humor.  Charisse is excited to share her imagination, hard work ethic and value of lifelong learning.  We believe in open communication and transparency and would love to establish a relationship with you that honors your wishes and the best interests of your child.
