The Department of Children and Families has released a memo to inform agencies of a major recall of Kidde Fire Extinguishers. Recall No. 18-022 was put into effect on November 2, 2017, and includes 134 different models of Kidde Fire Extinguishers manufactured between January 1, 1973, and August, 15, 2017.
The models involved were sold in either red, silver or white, and are either ABC- or BC-rated. The model number is printed on the fire extinguisher label, and a ten-digit date code can also be found on the side of the cylinder, near the bottom. For units manufactured prior to 2007, date codes are not printed on the extinguisher.
