Free DNA Testing. Apply by April 30, 2018
Genetic testing has exploded in popularity as people try to learn more about where (and whom) they come from. Some people are just curious, but many of us want or need to know more about our genetic or health history. For adoptees, DNA testing may be the only way to obtain this information.
MyHeritage has launched an initiative to give 15,000 free DNA kits to adoptees and birth families trying to unite through genetic testing. According to MyHeritage:
“Participation in this project is open to adoptees seeking to find their biological family members, and to parents and other family members looking for a child they had placed in adoption years ago. Preference will be given to people who are not able to afford genetic testing. Leveraging the power of genetic genealogy opens new doors in the search for relatives, and we believe everyone should be able to access this valuable technology.”
Applications for the free DNA kits are open until April 30, 2018. For more information and to apply, go to: https://dnaquest.org/.
